Over 10,000 civil servants across Nigeria are celebrating a new financial relief that promises to ease their burdens. Through the Federal Government’s loan scheme, many workers, including teachers, healthcare staff, and police officers, have secured loans without needing to know anyone in high places. The loans are part of President Bola Tinubu’s initiative to help Nigerians cope with rising living costs, especially after the fuel price hikes.
One civil servant shared her joy after quickly receiving the loan online. She used the funds to support her small business and meet household needs.
This loan program, managed by CREDICORP, offers a faster, easier way for workers to access credit. In the past, loans could take months to process, but this program eliminates the usual bottlenecks. The best part? You don’t need personal connections.

Hauwa Bawa, a worker in the Ministry of Labour and Productivity, shared her story, saying, “I applied online, and it was approved fast. This loan has helped me keep up with daily expenses, and I’m thankful.”
This scheme is making a big difference in people’s lives. So far, 4,786 education workers and 1,307 health workers, among others, have been able to access the loans. The goal is to continue helping more civil servants in the coming weeks.
Vice President Kashim Shettima also emphasized the government’s focus on building a strong economy by partnering with private organizations. The CREDICORP relief loan is part of this bigger picture. It’s about giving workers a chance to thrive, even during tough times.
For now, thousands of civil servants are benefitting, and this number is growing daily. The loan is making it easier for them to cope with rising costs and live a little more comfortably. It’s a breath of fresh air for many hardworking Nigerians.
